When is VBS?
Monday, June 24th to Friday, 28th, 2024
AM VBS is from 9:30am to 12:00pm.
- Drop off begins at 9:15am.
PM VBS is from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
- Drop off begins at 6:45pm.
What is the age requirement to attend?
AM VBS is available to 4 year olds (by 9/30/24) to rising 3rd grade students (2024-25 school year).
PM VBS is available to rising 4th through rising 6th graders (2024-25 school year).

Can my child with special needs attend AM VBS?

What is the cost?
VBS is $35.00 per child. A t-shirt is included.
Please note, t-shirt size requests will only be honored for registrations dated before May 15th, so register early.
Can I register my child at any time?
Online registration is open from April 7th through June 22nd, as space allows.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
AM VBS ADULT VOLUNTEERS:
What do I need to do to be a volunteer?
- A completed volunteer registration form.
- Lead positions require a background check (if this is applicable, we will send you a link to the background check after you complete your volunteer form).
- A personal reference is required for those who don’t attend IBC.
What are your volunteer needs for adults (over 18)?
- Nursery Helpers: Watch and care for babies/children (0-3 years) of VBS volunteers.
- Crafts Assistants: Follow the directions of the Craft Room Leader to assist with craft set up and clean up for groups, or serve at supplemental craft tables. This role requires an earlier arrival each day of VBS.
- Games Helper: Follow the directions of the Games Leader to facilitate games in the gym.
- Snack Helper: Follow the directions of the Snack Leader. You will be assigned, in pairs, to oversee a table of 8-10 kids as they assemble/eat their snacks.
How will I know where I am serving?
You will receive information regarding your position the week prior to VBS. We do our best to place volunteers where they would like to serve, but we cannot guarantee requests as space is limited in some areas. Your flexibility is appreciated!
Will I be trained in the area I am serving?
Registered volunteers will receive more information about training (which will happen on the first day of VBS) via email. Plan to arrive early on Monday for training.
Can I bring my older elementary child with me?
Yes, your older elementary children may attend and serve but must serve with you and stay with you. Please indicate this on your volunteer application.
Can I bring my younger (pre-VBS) aged children with me?
Yes. We have childcare for children too young to attend VBS. Please indicate on your volunteer application and follow the link provided after the completion of your volunteer form.
TEEN/YOUNG ADULT VOLUNTEERS
AM VBS TEEN LEADERS:
Rising 7th grade-12th grade are welcome to serve at AM VBS.
Teen Leaders are responsible, with a co-leader, for a group of 8-10 children. Teen Leaders must be timely, encouraging, excited to serve with kids, and possess a firm understanding of the gospel. Teen leaders must be available for the following times in order to be considered for the position.
June 23rd – 3:45pm-5:00pm Teen Leader Training (mandatory)
June 24th-28th 8:15am-12:15pm (VBS Days) (mandatory)
ADDITIONAL TEEN VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:
- Nursery Helpers: (Rising 9th grade) Watch and care for the infants and toddlers (0-3 yrs old) of VBS volunteers.
- Crafts Helper (Rising 7th grade): Follow the directions of the Craft Room Leader to assist with craft set up and clean up for groups.
- Snack Helper (Rising 7th grade): Follow the directions of the Snack Leader. You will be assigned, in pairs, to oversee a table of 8-10 kids as they assemble/eat their snacks.
PM VBS TEAM LEADERS:
Rising 9th through young adults are welcome to serve at PM VBS. However, priority will given to rising 10th graders and older.
Team Leaders, along with their two co-Captains and 3 fellow Team Leaders, are responsible for a group of approximately 25 children. Team Leaders must be timely, excited to serve with kids, and affirm Immanuel Bible Church’s Statement of Faith. Team Leaders must be available for the following times in order to be considered for the position.
June 23rd – 3:00pm-4:15pm Team Leader Training (mandatory)
June 24th-28th 6:15pm-9:15pm (mandatory)

DROP OFF/PICK UP PROCEDURES
What are the drop-off and pick-up processes?
AM VBS Drop-off:
- Enter the building using Entrances 1 and 2.
- Worship Center doors will open at 9:15am, and VBS will begin promptly at 9:30 am.
- Clear signage will direct you to your child’s group in the Worship Center.
- Make sure to check in with your child’s teen leaders before leaving your child.
- Parents are asked to leave the building immediately following drop off unless you are serving as a volunteer.
Pick-up:
- Doors will open at approximately 12:00 pm for pick-up. Please account for traffic as you return to the building.
- Children must be signed out and will be released only to those authorized for pick-up on the registration form.
- Parents are asked to leave the Worship Center immediately following pickup.
PM VBS Drop-off:
- Enter the building using Entrance 1 and follow signs to the gym.
- Gym doors will open at 6:45pm and VBS will begin promptly at 7pm.
- First night – register/check in at the registration desk. Your child will meet their Team Captain upon arrival.
- Parents are asked to leave the gym immediately after drop off.
Pick-up:
- Doors will open at 9:00pm for pick up. Children must be signed out and will be released only to those authorized for pick-up on the registration form.
ALLERGIES
Does my child need to bring a snack?
We provide a daily snack. Please do not bring a snack except for allergy reasons.
Does my child need a water bottle?
Unless your child has a medical need, please don't send a water bottle with your child.
Is the environment allergy safe?
We try to avoid common allergens when selecting snacks, but we cannot guarantee the selection will be free of all possible allergens.
- If your child has a food allergy or other dietary medical condition, we must be made aware at the time of registration.
- You may supply one snack item for your child per day.
- This snack item – labeled with your child’s name - will be carried by your child’s Team Captain) in his/her daily bag. Please give the item to the Team Captain upon arrival.
- Please make sure your child understands that they are not to eat anything other than what you have supplied.
- If you’ve listed an allergy on your child’s registration, you’ll be contacted by our snack coordinator with a list of snacks and ingredients, prior to the start of VBS.

MISCELLANEOUS
Am I able to observe while VBS is in session?
For the safety of all children and volunteers, no one is permitted to remain in the building except approved volunteers, our Safety Team, and church staff.
Is my friend/neighbor permitted to pick up my child?
Anyone picking up a child must be listed on the child’s registration form.

Can I pick up my child early?
Children are involved in many activities and often rotate throughout the building. For this and other security reasons, early pick-ups are discouraged. Please do your best to schedule dental, doctor, and other appointments outside the VBS schedule.
AM parents must stop by the Information Desk to pick up their child.

Is there a dress code for AM VBS?
We ask that children and volunteers wear sneakers, the VBS T-shirt, and pants or modest length shorts.
Is there a dress code for PM VBS?
Kids will be outside playing games and there will be water involved in many of them. Sending them with a drawstring bag/towel may be helpful.
Do I need to send a water bottle with my child to VBS?
Children have many opportunities to hydrate at VBS. We ask that you keep personal water bottles at home.
Can my child bring a special item to VBS?
Thank you for leaving special items at home during VBS.
