Have you had a baby in the last year or two and find yourself struggling with aspects of motherhood? Do you wonder if motherhood should feel so difficult and how you’ll keep your head above water? You are not alone! We invite you to join us as we relate to and share in each other’s struggles while exploring Gospel-centered support and comfort for sisters in Christ who are struggling in the postpartum period. Childcare is available to those who are pre-registered.

FAQ

What do you mean by postpartum?
Postpartum, for our purposes, means that you have a child in the age range of 0-2 (could be your first or 6th!).

I don’t think I have Postpartum Anxiety or Depression, but I am struggling.
Is this for me?

We will address postpartum anxiety and depression, though you do not necessarily need to experience either in any clinically diagnosable way to join the group. Difficulty adjusting to motherhood comes in many different forms. Though it is a common experience, it is not something you need to suffer through silently and alone.  You are welcome to come and see if it is a good fit for you.

I am a mess. Will I have to share that with the group?
You can share to your comfort level. The group facilitators will discuss parts of their own  struggle during the early baby stages, and will offer time for group discussion. Though there is not a requirement for sharing, there can be great comfort in letting others struggle alongside you.

Is this a counseling ministry?
No, but we are partnering with the Care and Counseling Ministry of the church to provide resources to those in the group who are interested in them. Caroline WIlliams, who is a Biblical counselor, will be co-leading the group and providing tools and techniques for handling difficult moments in motherhood from a Biblical perspective. The group is not meant to replace counseling or care you are receiving from a medical professional, but to complement it.

How is this different from MUMS?
Though there may be some overlap with topics covered in MUMS, our group is meant for women who are finding it difficult to cope with the day to day experience with one or more 0-2 year old children and need a place where they can spend time working through that struggle with other women.
